2. Acquisition, Processing and Use of Personal Data

We would like you to know how your personal data is processed and how you can share this data with other projektwerk users.

Personal data is information about professional or personal relationships or circumstances concerning a specific or specifiable natural person, this includes, for example, your telephone number, your address, and the details you give us during registration and while creating your content. On the other hand, it does not include statistical data collected when you visit our website, for example, and which cannot be directly associated with you personally.

In principle, you can always visit projektwerk without leaving your personal data there. In some cases, however, we may require such data from you, for example:

  • for registration free of charge
  • for taking out a starter or premium membership
  • for publicising content, such as projects, jobs and profiles
  • when applying for projects and jobs
  • for contact with other projektwerk users

In order to use these services, you have to register with us and provide us with personal data. The input of your personal data for creating and publishing your content on projektwerk takes place voluntarily.  Nevertheless, truthful and accurate entry of certain data is obligatory. This includes for example your name, contact details, and in some cases information about your business or the services you offer, your references, etc.

In addition we need your personal data for the development and administration of projektwerk and for checking the plausibility of the data entered, i.e. for the establishment, content design, execution and modification of the contractual relationship with you concerning the use of the projektwerk service and for any enquiries.

With your online registration, you consent to publication of the content entered by you on projektwerk, for the purposes of fulfilling the contract.

While registered users are utilising the projektwerk service, we collect data for statistical purposes in order to facilitate the smooth functioning of projektwerk and for display to other users. This includes in particular:

Registration Data

We use the data provided by you during registration for generating business contacts, for internal administration, for newsletter subscriptions and for sending out information material. In principle, projektwerk does not make the data available for use by third parties and moreover does not sell the data to third parties. Only in the context of generating contacts (applications, direct contacting) are your first name and surname and the contact details you made public passed on to other projektwerk members. Your login details remain secret at all times.

Profile, Project and Job Data

projektwerk allows the creation of content such as profiles, projects and jobs. Profiles, projects and jobs may contain personal data such as name, address, work experience, references etc.  Please take note of the fact that once your information has been published, including your profile and project data and also solicitation data, this information will be visible to all other projektwerk members and search engines on the Internet and (in abbreviated form) on other platforms, in order to increase your accessibility to potential business partners. Please therefore make sure that you anonymise within your content any personal data (e.g. names) contained in the projektwerk forms or in file uploads etc, if you do not want people to see this information.

Membership, Billing Information, Correspondence and Access

projektwerk stores data concerning your membership and also any information relating to services within projektwerk that require payment, including electronic invoices, as well as any contacting of other projektwerk users and any correspondence that you conduct with projektwerk. All access to the website is logged and analysed.

3. Disclosure of Personal Data to Third Parties

All the data that you have provided to us will be treated confidentially. On principle we do not make your data available to third parties other than for business purposes, except where such disclosure serves to facilitate business contacts or is necessary in terms of fulfilling the contract, or where we are required to supply this data for example because of legal or governmental regulations. projektwerk is especially entitled to submit your billing information to third parties responsible for collection of money, insofar as it is required for this purpose.

All projektwerk employees, subcontractors and partners are educated to maintain the confidentiality of data. projektwerk is therefore committed to observing the statutory data protection regulations, in particular the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Law on Data Protection in Teleservices (Teleservices Act).

4. Log Files

With any visit to the projektwerk service, our servers temporarily store each access in a protocol file. projektwerk uses these protocol data (logs) anonymously (in other words, without association or reference to you individually) for statistical evaluations, for diagnosing errors, for better understanding of the requirements of users and the resulting product optimisation. projektwerk does not link the page-views and usage to individual people when it stores this information in the server log.

projektwerk reserves the right to check logs in individual cases via the last-known IP address if, due to certain facts, it is suspected that the projektwerk service is being used illegally or in breach of contract.

5. Cookies

Cookies are small text files that we store on your computer, not on our server. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain any viruses. projektwerk uses cookies, for example, to identify you as a user, without you having to log on especially. Their use does not lead to us obtaining new personal data about you as an online visitor. These cookies do not contain any information about you, but only a figure (Session-ID) that has no significance outside of projektwerk’s online presence. The cookies are not evaluated or otherwise used.

If you activate the function “remember login” while logging in, a cookie is permanently stored on your computer. It is important for you to protect yourself from unauthorised access to your password and to your computer. If you share your computer with others, you should ensure that you log yourself off after every session.

Most internet browsers accept cookies automatically. You can configure your browser so that no cookies are stored on your computer or that a notice always appears when you get a new cookie. You can also select a setting in your browser that cookies are only accepted when you agree to this. As a general rule, it is shown in the menu bar of your web browser through the help function when you reject new cookies and switch off those you have already received.

We would like to point out that the deactivation of cookies can lead to you not being able to use all functions of projektwerk’s internet presence.

6. Data Protection Policy for the Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service of Google Inc., (“Google”, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). Google Analytics uses what are known as “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer and that enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. If you activated the IP anonymisation on this website, your IP address shall still, however, first be shortened within member states of the European Union or in other countries which are contracting parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the complete IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website, to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports about the website activities and to render further services to the website operator associated with the use of the website and the use of the internet. The IP address transmitted from your browser within the scope of Google Analytics is not joined with other Google data. You can prevent the storage of cookies through the corresponding setting in your browser software; however, we wish to point out that in this case you cannot use all functions of this website in their complete scope. You can also prevent the capture of the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google, as well as the processing of this data, by downloading and installing a browser plugin. On this website, the Google Analytics code was extended by “gat._anonymizeIp();”. Through this, an anonymised capturing of IP addresses (which is known as IP masking) is guaranteed. You can find further information on this here.

7. Data Protection Policy for the Use of Google AdWords

This website uses so-called re-targeting technology as part of Google Adwords and the conversion tracking of Google Inc. (“Google”, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) as part of Google Adwords.

Google AdWords enables Internet users who are already interested in our programme to deliver advertising on partner websites. The display of advertising media on the pages of our partner takes place on the basis of cookie technology and an analysis of the previous use pattern. This form of advertising takes place completely pseudonymously. No personal data is stored and no user profile is configured to your personal data.

The cookie for conversion tracking is set if a user clicks on an advertisement connected by Google. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and do not serve the purpose of personal identification. If the user visits certain sites of the website of the AdWords clients, in this case the projektwerk services, and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and the client can detect that the user has clicked on the advertisement and has been led to this page. Each client receives another cookie, meaning that cookies may thus not be tracked on the websites of AdWords clients. The information obtained with the help of the conversion cookie serves to prepare conversion statistics for Adwords clients who have opted for conversion tracking. The clients find out the total number of users that have clicked on their advertisements and have been led to a site furnished with a conversion tracking tag. However, they obtain no information with which an identification of the user is possible. A connection between your personal data and your user data is therefore not possible. If you wish to deactivate the cookies for the conversion tracking, you can configure your browser so that cookies are blocked from the following domain – ““. Further information on the subject of “data protection” within the scope of Google Adwords can be viewed following this link.

8. Data Protection Policy for the Use of Google AdSense

This website uses Google AdSense, a service for the incorporation of advertisements of Google Inc. (“Google”, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). Google AdSense uses so-called “cookies”, text files that are saved on your computer and facilitate the analysis of the use of the website. Google Adsense also uses so-called web beacons (invisible graphics). Information such as the visitor traffic on these pages can be assessed with these web beacons.

The information generated by cookies and web beacons on the use of this website (including your IP address) and delivery of advertising formats are transferred to a Google server in the USA and saved there. This information may be passed on by Google to a contractual partner of Google. However, Google will not merge your IP address with your other saved data.

You can also prevent the installation of cookies with a corresponding configuration of your browser software; we would like to point out that in this case you will not be able to use all the functions of this website. By using this website you agree to the processing of data collected from you by Google in the previously described manner and for the purposes previously mentioned.

9. Data Protection Policy for the Use of Facebook Plug-ins (Like Button)

Plug-ins from the social network Facebook, (Facebook Inc., 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, California, 94025, USA) are incorporated In the projektwerk services. You can see the Facebook plug-ins on the Facebook logo or the “Like” button on projektwerk. You can find an overview of the Facebook plug-ins here. If you visit projektwerk, a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server is produced via the plug-in. Facebook thereby receives the information that you visited projektwerk with your IP address. If you click on the Facebook “Like” button whilst you are logged into your account, you can link the content of the projektwerk services to your Facebook profile. Facebook can thus match the visit to projektwerk to your Facebook user account.

Please note that as the provider of the pages we receive no information on the content of the transmitted data as well as their utilisation by Facebook. You can find further information on this in the Data Use Policy of Facebook.

If you do not want Facebook to match the visit to the projektwerk services to your Facebook user account, please log out from your Facebook user account.

10. Data Protection Policy for the Use of Google +1

Recording and passing on of information:

Using the Google +1 button you can publicise information worldwide. Via the Google +1 button you and other users receive personalised content from Google and our partners. Google saves the information that you have given for +1 content as well as information on the pages that you have viewed by clicking on +1. Your +1 can be displayed as hints together with your profile name and your photo in Google services, such as in search results or at other points on websites and advertisements on the Internet. Google records information on your +1 activities in order to improve Google services for you and others. To be able to use the +1 button you need a globally visible, public Google profile that must at least include the name for the selected profile. This name is used in all Google services. In some cases this name can also replace another name which you have used when sharing content using your Google account. The identity of your Google profile can be shown to users who know your email address or have other personally identifiable information on you.

Use of the Recorded Information:

In addition to the purposes described above, the information provided by you is used according to the applicable Google data protection provisions. You can find further information on this here. Google publishes summarised statistics where possible on the +1 activities of the user and passes these on to users and partners, such as publishers, advertisers or associated websites.

11. Data Protection Policy for the Use of Twitter

Functions of the Twitter service are incorporated into our pages. These functions are provided by Twitter Inc. (“Twitter“, 1355 Market St, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA).
