We have just updated projektwerk. Among other new features, some very practical social media functions have gone live, e.g. the new social media buttons. Now you can easily recommend interesting profiles and projects to your friends and colleges at twitter, google+ and facebook by one click.

You can find the Buttons on all profiles and projects on projektwerk. Shortly, the buttons will be placed in your personal matching-list, too.

twitter streamAdditionally new: The projektwerk twitter stream! You can find it on all projektwerk homepages (LINK) and on your individual welcome page after the login. There you can read the latest tweets from your projektwerk platform.
projektwerk wishes you a lot of fun by sharing!

Why? An updated profile enormously increases your chances to get in contact with new project providers.

Imagine you are a project provider and that you are just taking a look into the matching results of your project on projektwerk.

There are two candidates who catch your interest because of their skills. On closer inspection of the favoured freelancer-profiles, you notice that one has just updated his profile yesterday, chose an appealing title for his profile, filled in different scaled skills, smiles friendly to you, and his current CV is attached.

The other one has lastly updated his profile on the 7th of March 2008. The picture does not seem to be new, the title is a confusing T04-number, the skills are all scaled to the middle and the CV ended in 2007.

Of course, the project provider contacts the first candidate because it seems more likely to him that he has free capacities and is interested in new projects.

So: Do not trust in the daily matching mail only but log in to your account regularly to always keep your profile up to date.

If you would like to get some tips about the optimal profile or project, you are always welcome to contact us.

Tip of the week: The new series is starting

Posted by Steffanie / Category: tips

Every wednesday you will find a new tip here on the blog. The tips will deal with topics like optimizing your project or profile and will highlight the numerous possibilities projektwerk is offering you.

Today we are dealing with: the title of your profile or project

What would be a good start for our new series? Obviously the first step when creating a new profile or project: choosing a title.

The headline is important because it is also factored in the matching. It is not as highly weighted as the keywords (skills), but it comes a close second in the terms of matching.

Examples with good matching results:
I am “Graphic designer with photo shop know how” or I need “Java expert with experience in PHP”

Examples with bad matching results:
I need “project 123” or I am “John Smith”

Therefore, it is best to check your title as soon as possible to achieve more accurate matching results.

If you would like to get some more information to optimize your profile or project, please do not hesitate to contact us. Just send an email to: service@projektwerk.com

How to optimize my matching results?

Posted by Caroline / Category: tips

During the last days we were asked how one could set up their profiles and projects to get optimal matching results. So we decided to post a short guide on how to optimize your matching results through adapting your profile or project.

The matching technology calculates the congruence between profiles and projects. Due to this, your information given in the profile or project is essential for receiving accurate matching results.

Here is a short guide on how to influence your matching results – given a profile as example:

After logging in you will find yourself on your personal homepage. Here you chosse the profile you want to optimize.

In this profile you click the “improve matching” button. Then you’ll click “edit full profile”. In this view you can adapt step by step all information that is processed in the calculation of your matches.

1. The title “I am”

To receive good matches your title should concisely describe your profile.

2. The keywords “My skills”

Type in your main skills and use significant and precise keywords. These keywords are of special importance for the calculation of the matching.

3. Short description “About me”

You can use this field to describe your skills in detail. It might contain further information about your vita or some references.

Ideally your profile should describe your specific field of expertise now. So after clicking the “save” button, you will find matches which are fitting your given profile at the best.
