Here’s a little tale: imagine that, let’s say, some former apple developer just for fun imagines how a color-picker should work on a haptic interface like the iPhone’s. He does it, works fine. Ok, what to do with it? Why not come up with a simple painting app? Painting on the iPhone, haha. Maybe a toy for kids.
The name of the guy is Steve Sprang and the iPhone-app he created is called Brushes.
Only Brushes didn’t turn out to be a kid’s toy.
18 months later, paintings created on the iPhone and lately the iPad (also called fingerpaintings by many artists) have appeared on the cover of magazines, on ABC and RAI and the first MobileArt-Conference featuring more than 100 artists from over 13 countries will take place in October 2010 in New York City.
