Just recently, projektwerk invited some creative experts for an interview, starting with Christian Wiez, creative writer, because:
What was the most interesting project you have implemented?
I was able to develop and implement many exciting projects. One of my personal highlights was the “Opodien” campaign for the online travel portal Opodo. I came up with the idea of an imaginary destination – Opodien -. We engaged Barbara Schöneberger as “president” and were able to produce a lot of exciting online promotions for it. So we were looking for an anthem, established a blog, where the “Opodier” could report their trips and much more. The whole thing was so successful that we h won the PR Report Award for best consumer marketing campaign.
What was the most difficult experience you have had with a customer?
I haven’t had unsolvable difficulties or problems with a customer yet. Once I was asked to text for a plumbing catalog with bathtubs, shower screens, overflow sets etc., and only had one excel sheet with product numbers and poor descriptions. I had to investigate the rest for myself. Basically this is more a problem of consultation and communication. In the end, we did all the research by ourselves. That was one of the most nerve-racking projects I have ever realized, even if the results had become really good.
What was the biggest challenge you had to face?
The main challenge which I previously faced was getting out of the employee status and launch into independence. Starting with the creation of the business plan and the construction of a reliable high-qualified network, through which I am able to offer even full-service to private clients. Mounting up to all the little things that are associated, such as taxes, insurances, creating a corporate identity and so on.
Are there customers for whom you would not work?
I would not advertise products or services that contradict my moral consciousness. These include for example a couple of certain parties or the gun lobby. Also, there are some agencies with whom I would not cooperate.
